The highly anticipated 10th edition of the annual Penang Hill Heritage Forest Challenge (PHHFC) will be held for its 10th edition on Sunday, 17 August 2025.
The Penang Hill Heritage Forest Challenge, which debuted in 2014, is designed to showcase Penang as a premier eco-tourism destination while fostering awareness and appreciation for environmental and heritage conservation within the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve. This event serves as a testament to sustainable practices and responsible tourism initiatives.
Starting from Penang Youth Park, the new 15km route (with some changes to 2024's route)takes the participants onto a run into the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve, where they will:
a. go up the Moon Gate Trail,
b. stop by Station 5 and Station 84,
c. take the jeep track up further onto Tunnel Road East, Viaduct Road West, ,
d. then ends the run at the Dataran, Penang Hill at atop the hill.
For the 2025 10th edition, a shorter route of 7km first introduced in 2024 has been redesigned to allow casual and fun runners to share the similar terrain and sights around the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve

RUNNER's AGREEMENT:
1. In submitting my online registration form, I hereby READ and AGREE to ABIDE by the rules and regulations of the race event, including information written on the race event website and race event programme pertaining to the Penang Hill Heritage Forest Challenge 2025.
2. I DECLARE, UNDERSTAND and ACCEPT that I am participating in this race at my own risk and hereby AGREE TO WAIVE all my rights to any claim of personal injury, death and all other losses or damages that may be sustained before, during and after the race event against the race organizer, sponsors and supporters.
3. I DECLARE that I am medically and physically fit to participate in this race.
4. I DECLARE that I have trained sufficiently for this race.
5. I DO NOT HAVE any cardiac disorders or illnesses and have READ the "Health Checklist" to make sure that I am physically able to participate in this race. If I am NOT FEELING WELL, I will decide NOT TO TAKE PART in the race. If during the race, I become injured or sick or unwell, I AGREE to receive emergency first aid treatment.
6. I understand SUBSTITUTE RUNNERS ARE NOT ALLOWED and I will not allow any runner to replace me during the race.
7. I agree that I will withdraw from the race if I miss the official cut-off times at any one of the checkpoints along the route and also at the finishing point. In such an event, I will surrender my bib to the race officials, sign a Race Withdrawal Form, and discontinue running in the race. Should I wish to continue running, I agree that this is against the rules and regulations of the race, and I will be running on my own accord which is not part of the race. I understand that I will not be entitled to any finisher T-shirt, medal, or finisher-related items.
8. I HAVE NOT provided any false information regarding my race participation qualifications.
9. I consent to the race organizer using my name, image and likeness in the race event, at any time, to promote the race event for publicity.
10. I agree and understand that I may be included in the video footage, photographs, articles and race information. I also understand that such photos/footage are owned by the race organizer and may be used in magazines, television, newspapers, internet, posters and pamphlets.
